Statue of Liberty Enlightening the World

Dedicated in 1886, this famous New York landmark was designed by artist Frédéric-Auguste Bartholdi and presented as a gift of friendship from the people of France to the people of the United States. Visitors can ride a ferry to the island, enjoy exploring the grounds with a self-guided audio tour, purchase souvenirs at the gift shop, and visit the museum before climbing 146 steps up a narrow spiral staircase to the statue's crown. Standing as an icon and symbol of freedom and democracy for people around the globe, the Statue of Liberty became a National Monument in 1924 and hosts more than four million visitors each year.


Prices -

Ferry fees are $18 adults (13+), $14 seniors (65+) and $9 children (4-12). Children under 4 years of age ride free. Entry to the Statue of Liberty park and pedestal is free. Crown access is an additional $3 per person. Children must be at least 4 feet tall to visit the crown.

Hours -

Ferries to the Statue of Liberty begin leaving the departure points at 9am, with the last return ferry departing at 5pm. Ferry hours are extended during the summer months.

    Tickets are available online at http://www.statuecruises.com, at the Battery Park and Liberty State Park ferry departure points or by calling 1-877-LADY-TIX. Reservations are required for visitors who wish to enter the statue's pedestal or crown. Advanced purchase tickets are highly recommended for visits during the peak summer months.
